Woodcroft Lamb Recipes
British Lamb tastes delicious
I've often been asked how I prepare lamb for the family. Here are a couple of dishes we enjoy at Woodcroft.
Tasty lamb chops
Place a little olive oil in a frying pan and stir fry a chopped leek for about 2-3 minutes and place in the bottom of a casserole dish. Using the same oil seal the chops for 2-3 minutes on both sides and then place on top of the leeks. Make a sauce, some people use gravy granules for speed, I like to make a roux with plain flour and olive oil and a little vegetable stock. Add a desert spoon of redcurrant jelly to the sauce. Strawberry jam is fine as a substitute. Cover the chops with the sauce. Cover the dish with a lid or silverfoil. Cook on 160c for about an hour. Serve with creamed potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Mouthwatering lamb lasagne.
My children love this, its a real favourite.
Put a pint of milk in a pan with a chopped onion and 5 cloves, bing to the boil, then set aside to cool.Lightly fry a chopped onion in olive oil (I prefer red onions). Add 500g (1lb) of lamb mince and gently fry until lamb is browned. Remove any excess fat. Add a tin of chopped tomatoes, a pint of chicken stock, half a pint of cider, two carrots peeled and chopped, two sticks of celery chopped, bouquet garni and a tablespoon of tomato puree. Simmer on low for an hour do not allow to stick. Add a little more liquid is required. Make a white roux sauce with the flavoured milk (discarding the oinions and cloves). Layer the meat, lasagne sheets and white sauce in an oven proof dish, ending with white sauce. Bake on 180c for about half an hour, serve with salad and garlic bread.

Delivery and Packing
You can decide either to collect your lamb direct from Woodcroft or have it delivered to your door. Delivery is made by the national carrier FEDEX. The lamb is packed in thermal boxes to maintain a constant chilled temperature during transport. The cost for delivery is £9.95 per consignment.
Your meat is prepared to order and will take approximately 14 days from order date. Please indicate your prefered delivery date when placing an order.
